JULIE CORYELL
literary publicist
Julie Coryell is a literary publicist and book reviewer based in Los Angeles.
After graduating from UC Berkeley with a degree in foreign languages and literature, Julie worked in France as a project manager and communications consultant. Upon her return to the US, she became a bookseller and book reviewer. Julie then made the leap into publishing, first as a marketing and publicity manager for an indie publisher, then as the director of digital marketing and publicity for a boutique literary PR firm. From there, Julie started Julie Coryell PR, where she specializes in media campaigns and beyond-the-book coverage.
In 2025, Julie accepted a full-time publicist position at Penguin Publishing Group, where she has the pleasure of working with authors such as Greil Marcus (MYSTERY TRAIN) and Annie Jacobsen (NUCLEAR WAR), as well as on book-to-screen adaptations, anniversary editions, and more. She occasionally accepts freelance clients outside of her work with Penguin Publishing Group, though space is limited.
Julie loves collaborating with authors throughout their publishing journey, from finding unexpected story angles to placing each client as a subject-matter expert whose voice is not relegated to the pages of a book, but to a breadth of media.
Please contact her via email if you'd like to work together!
